OPEN CALL FOR

ARTISTS AND RESEARCHERS

Are you a visual artist? A performer? A curator? A writer? An art researcher?

This opportunity is for you!

Trust Collective intends to create a space of openness and experimentation.
Located in the middle of a small village, Trust is surrounded by trees and water, allowing another type of relation with time and a reconnection with the individual’s inner rhythms and potentials.

We are now officially accepting applicants for our 2022 Residency Season.
During the residency, each artist will have the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in a creative process as well as share ideas and opinions with the other artists, both local and in residency.
We welcome artists from all around the world and various backgrounds and artistic disciplines. Applications will be carefully selected. We encourage artists to develop a project intimately related to this region of Interior Portugal.

Deadline: 23/4/2022

Duration of residency
We offer the possibility of a minimum residency of two weeks from April to November. Residencies are self-funded and self-directed.

Accommodation
We offer accommodation at the Mother House: 3 double bedrooms, a communal lounge, 1 wc, kitchen.

Studio / Workspace
We dispose of two studios and an office with a library. For further details please visit our website at:
https://trust-collective.org/en/espacos/

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
The Residency is open to artists and creative professionals. Within the Trust team we have a network of artists available for support at various artistic levels. The artists’ workshops have basic equipment. Artists must self-fund specific materials or equipment, we can however provide assistance for the necessary supplies.

Fees and support
Fees: 150€ / week per person (for artists that do not live in Portugal) – 100€ / week per person (for artists that live in Portugal).
Fees include: lifts to and from the nearest bus station in Catraia de Mouronho, accommodation in a double bedroom, access to the communal living room, gardens and also to a work space, which can be a studio or an office. They do not include food.
The artist is expected to fully fund their residency, however Trust is willing to offer support in obtaining other sources of funding by writing a recommendation / invitation letter.

Expectations towards the artist
We encourage artists to present themselves and their work locally. The residency also offers a possibility to teach a public workshop, to perform or make an exhibition, yet none of the above is mandatory. Our annual Open Days which take place in September will present an additional possibility for performances and exhibitions.

Application information
Applicants shall apply to the residency through the form on our website:
https://trust-collective.org/en/candidaturas/
